Ivan-Lazar Bundalo, PhD

Deep-tech innovation, funding & operations

As CTO of InSpek I co-led raising €6M+, scaled the team to 16, and took sensing technology from the lab toward the market. My edge is at the interface: funding a deep-tech idea, building the team to deliver it, and making the technology clear enough to back, buy or build. Base in photonics, spanning medical, techbio, telecom, quantum and sensing.

About

A bit about me.

I work where deep technology turns into a business, and I do it through people. Over sixteen years I've moved deep-tech from the lab toward the market, most recently as CTO of InSpek, a sensing startup I helped grow from 5 to 16. I trained as a photonics engineer, but my real work happens at the interface: between disciplines, and between a technical idea and the investor, customer or new hire who has to decide on it.

What pulls me is mission and people. I care most about work that helps someone, which is why health and human-impact missions draw me in. I'm at my best close to people, aligning a team or helping someone see why a technology matters, and I'd rather keep learning something new than go deeper into a single field.

For investors & founders

How I can help.

Four things I do for investors, founders and labs, from first look to industrialisation. Hands-on engineering credibility, backed by a European network.

Technical Translation

Complex science, made investable.

Investor narratives and commercial messaging that bridge the lab bench and the market.
